Help....Stock Stereo Wiring...

I have a Kenwood 350 watt amp, and two 10s that I want to put in the trunk of my evo. I did the install on my last car myself so this should be no problem. I am going to use the stock head unit and speakers, and just hook up the two 10s for some more base. My question is this..... I want to get the input signal for the amplifier off of the wires running to the speakers on the rear deck. I have looked all around them in the trunk, and on the rear deck, but cannot find any wires running to them. Does anyone know where these wires are or how to locate them? Anyone have the crutchfield mastersheet that they could post? One quick other question......I know the answer to this is most likely no, but for anyone that has taken out the stock head unit, are there preamp outs? Thanks for any and all info.

Ahh yes the EVO must bump! So to get to the wires in question you will need to climb into your trunk and look up at the bottom of the speakers. You will see 3 screws around the base of each speaker that holds the top cover inside the car on. Remove the 3 screws and the move to the back seat, now you can lift the gray speaker covers off and see the wires! Now all you gotta do is tap the wires into your RCA converter (http://www.iokoo.com/catalog/lightni...oc_3192645.htm) and your set! Here is a wiring diagram I found on the net and used when I installed my system. As I remember the wire colors wert a perfect match but close enough to make the install a snap! good luck. Oh and there are no preamps on the stock HU.

Thanks for the info. I am gonna go out and buy an in line fuse and then I am ready to go.......thanks for the help. I'll let you know how it comes out. I'm guessing most of the wires can be run through the floor panels around the doors. My only other question would be......where is it easiest to run the power wire through the firewall? Thanks for all the info.

Pop the hood and look to the left side (passenger side) behind the strut tower there is a small hole already made in the fire wall. It is kind hard to see and get your hand to. It enters the cabin behind the glove box. Here is a link with some pics. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ight=fire+wall
