Where is the air purifier filter?

Where is the air purifier filter?

Like the title says, where is it located in the Evo we get here in the U.S.?

I really need to get a factory service manual ;p

I'm not sure if we even have a air purifier in the Evo. Most likely, it's a cheap foam filter not a purifier like the ones on high-end cars.

We have it because the owner's manual and the sticker on the dash say so.

It appears from inspection of my '03 that everything is the same (screw holes, pin, guides inside the airbox, etc). Thus I'm wondering if the instructions has one cut through the grooves to create the opening.

The thickness of the plastic in the groove is thin enough that this could be possible.
