How to empty the radiator?
Would like to know how to empty the fluid in the radiator, easy way would be just to pull off the rad hose and let it dump it all over :D , but that would be a little messy so whats the best way. Also how much fluid would it take to fill it?
thanks |
Scott, I believe there is a plug on the bottom of the radiator for drainage. Im not 100% sure since I havent drained mine yet.

yea? I think i toy around if i got time in the morning. Anyone else know for sure?

The plug only drains the rad. I'm not sure how to get to the fluid in the engine. My wife's Saturn has a bolt between the block and radiator, in addition to the plug on the rad. Might look for a suspicious bolt :D
Edit: I know the plug only drains the radiator itself. When I unplugged the plug on my Lancer only about 3 quarts of coolant came out. My wife's car had closer to two gallons. |
There is a drain plug on the Passenger side of the radiator.

Remember to bleed the air in the system.
