Helix IC Pipe kit Install

Here is my write up and install on the Helix IC pipe kit

first impressions when opening the box was just wow. Just like all helix stuff it comes fully polished and looks amazing and the rubber hoses are top notch.

if your going to use this write up use at your own risk.

my car is very dirty and most everything is during the install it was
snowing pretty good at the time but i just couldnt wait any longer
when reinstalling the new ic pipe kit it recomends that you start with the
turbo outlet peice and work your way around.

Tools:
ratchet and sockets
size 10,12,14 are what i used
also a phillips screw driver and flat head.

ok first i started by taking out the intake and tube. I beleave the stock

hose clamps are a size 10 ratchet and a phillips screw driver.

Next i removed the top IC pipe. Thier is a hose clamp holding the top ic

pipe to the manifold. and then one to the lower ic pipe i just disconnected
those 2 well keeping the top ic pipe in once peice. (dont forget that the
bov is also connected to the top ic pipe)

at this point you have done all that you can by just working under the

hood. i suggest removing the negative side of the battery now just cause
its easy to get to.

now jack up the car i just jacked up one side and used jack stands. your

next step will be taking off the front bumper. first you have to locate all
the bolts and clips to remove the bumper.

( i already had my lower aero tray off in this case if you dont you will need to get under the car and remove it)

- thier is one plastic clip in each wheel well you need to remove both.

found the best way to do this was to turn the well all the way one way well
removing a side and then doing the same.

-thier is also one bolt in each wheel well right above the plasic clip it

faces up remove both of those.

-now go under the hood and right behind the drivers side headlight thier is

a little line that runs from the ic sprayer tank into the sprayer on the
front bumper. you need to unplug this at the joint in the middle.
(sorry i dont have pics its simple to find though)

-next thier are 2 clips and 2 bolts on the front of the bumper right by

where the latch to open the hood is located. you need to remove all 4 of
these.

-lastly thier are 2 lower bolts in the bumper through the grill one is

located behind the license plate holder and the other is exactly opposite
side.

ok now the bumper is just resting on the crash bar mainly. I reccomend

having a freind or someone with you to remove the bumper so it comes off
easy and u wont scrathch or drop it etc... im sure it can be done alone but
i didnt. If you pull straight out one either side near the wheel well the
bumper should just pop off.

now you can look at the pipes and find all the brackets holding them on and

start to remove those you can remove the pipes anyway u want i chose to
keep as much of them together as possible just to make it easier.

i disconnected the 2 hose clamps from the ic side tanks and then removed
the rest of the right side piping.

now here is the trickiest part climb under the car (make sure you have jack
stands under it!) you can follow the ic pipe from the ic to the turbo
outlet Black pipe a new one is included in the helix kit. well the tricky
part is you can get to one of the bolts that holds the turbo outlet pipe on
but not the other since its behind the starter. (just a bit of advice i
have tried to install a turbo outlet pipe b4 without taking off the starter
and it resulted in almost striping the turbo screws) not my car or my kit
and it wasnt me i was thier as the second man to help so just take the
extra 5 min and remove the starter thier are 2 bolts hold it on. size 14
ratchet one comes out from the side where the ic pipe is and the other one
is accesable from the drivers side. view pics

once you remove the starter you should be able to pull it gently twords the
passenger side of the car. It will come out then proceed with your ratchet
and take out the 2 bolts holding on the turbo outlet. (careful thier is a
gasket between the turbo outlet and the turbo) Also thier is a boost line
connected to the turbo outlet nipple you will need to remove this also.

now take the new turbo outlet and make sure to save and dont mess up the
old gasket you need it. place the old gasket on the turbo outlet and bolt
it back up. (i found the easiest way to hold the turbo outlet up well
bolting it back up is using your hand from the drivers side right infront
of the fan) carful the fan is sharp

once the new outlet it on you can put the starter back on i recomend doing
this b4 putting the hose and t-bolt on so u can position the t-bolt
correctly. also i would re connect the boost line its easier from the
bottom then top.

add the lower pipe and the hose for it and when putting the t-bolts on this
make sure you position them with the bolt Down or else you will run into
issues putting the bumper back on due to the oil cooler duct.

now put on the drivers side lower pipe and also do the same with the
t-bolts on this side. run the pipe up and connect the top hose.

once this is done you can assemble the upper ic pipe with its hose for the
manifold and also dont forget about the bov hose under the pipe.

now just attach them and titen everything really good i only had hose
clamps at this point so i tightend them good but over tightening them will
break them so be careful unless u have t-bolts.

now you can just reverse your steps with the bumper the aero tray the
battery etc.

now with the stock battery it is a pretty tight fit not impossible but
definitly tight. i had my buddy tighten down the battery tie down as i held
it as far to the drivers side as i could. It made it better

i ran mine this way for about 2 days but i had already had plans for a mini
battery. honestly i would have been perfectly fine with it with the stock
battery. but i alreday had a mini on the way so i have pics of it with the
mini battery also.

here are a few pics of it after i installed the mini bat.

my first impressions of it were.
-noticed a little more then a bar of boost lower then b4 the pipes. once
turning it up i definitly noticed a MUCH MUCH better spool. i have been
running these for about a week know and the car feels like it pulls so much
harder its nice.

sorry if this doesnt make sense and for bad spelling any questions on anything feel free to ask.

SPECIAL THANKS TO GRUPPE-S AND CAL FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE
