hks ssq blow off valve.

hey guys, just a quick question i was hoping to get cleared up. I am going to purchase a hks ssq blow off valve, but they have two set ups. The have one kit with out the intercooler pipe and one with it.

- Do i need to purchase the kit with the intercooler pipe and why?

- If i dont need to, will the install be easier with the kit with the intercooler pipe?

thanks.

The ssqv is a decent bov but again not recommended on a car using the maf set up like the evo. I would recommend getting it with the uicp if you will keep your stock intercooler and possibly go for the mini battery. It will definitely clean the engine bay up and will look good too.

I personally would not get the pipe with the kit. It is only one of the two pieces of the upper i/c pipe and the other piece will be a ***** to find. If I was you, I'd buy the kit without the pipe, then get an I/C pipe kit that comes complete with all of the pipes. It will save you from having to peice it all together. Just my opinion.

One of the things is that the HKS does not open at idle, which is important for our MAFs to read right. Another is the HKS is way too $$$ for what it is. Just paying for a name.

This has been covered a lot. I would search for posts on BOV, VTA, SSQV.

Some good DVs - IX, Forge RS, APS or a TypeS (which are not made anymore). I ran the S for 2+ years. Melted it racing (long term periods of high exh heat from the manifold). I now run the Forge RS. Top notch - holds and releases perfectly.

it does run as smooth as with standalone engine management.
it vents to the atmosphere where in between shifts it becomes really rich slowing you down.

I run an hks bov with maf now and its not as smooth like with the AEM.
I have no problems with stalling or anything like that

i would just recirculate it. better for the car. will run just like normal. without recirculation it can run rich at times and lean at times. i have been wanting to purchase one so i have been researching about it. just recirculate
