Thumbs up Homemade Valve Compressor Tool

Ok,
When I was rebuilding my head (new cams, valve stem seals), I had borrowed a valve spring compressor tool from a buddy. I could not get it to work (the very large C clamp style). The largest problem was the EVO valve retainer is tiny, and this thing was made for V8s. In a bind, as no one carried anything remotely capable of compressing the valves locally, and not having time to order the proper tool, I headed to Lowes. I bought some metal and made my own. I think I had maybe $30 or so in it. I used an 02 sensor socket with a welded 1" washer on the end (which was great, because it helped contain the keepers).

It worked great, so I thought I would share...with some schematics, pictures, etc. You can also download the PPT file here:
