Installing aftermarket HIDs in non-SSL / RS models
I search on here and had a hard time finding info so this post is for the next person that is having the same issue.
I purchased a set of aftermarket HIDs for my non SSL packaged 2005 Evolution VIII (GT HID 6000K, 9006 )
I plugged everything in and they would not come on. I was getting power up to the ballast but nothing out the other side.
Apparently some vehicles have the polarity reversed? The EVO is one of them. I took the aftermarket connector apart and swapped the pin in the connector. The system fired right up.
CLIFF NOTES: If you install HIDs in a non SSL or RS model Evolution and they don't work...............swap the wires going into the ballast.
