I was wondering i am getting a evo next week. It has a carbon fiber hood. The hood has sunspots im guessing.. does anyone know the method on getting rid of them or how to fix? thanks it also has it on the stock evo 8 wing that is on the car im guessing it would be the same method as the hood.?

 

you need to re clear-coat the hood and the wing if they have that problem. The clear coat will fade over time, and needs to be maintained regularly to prevent this. Get the clear coat, and make sure you hand wax both pieces every so often to keep them lookin good.

 

if i clear coat over the sun spots wont the sunspots still be there? or will clear coating it get rid of them?

 

you'll have to remove the sun spots 1st.

 

if the cf underneath the clearcoat is destroyed now does not matter how much clear you put on it will come back. any paintshop can tell you that. take it to a painter and he will let you know

 

what if the past clear coat is pealling off. Would it be easier to get a dif carbon fiber hood that just has cracks. If i clear coated that would the cracks go away or will they still be there? thanks
