BIG Thanks to Tephra for making this possible.

Tephra introduced the ability to have the CEL flash on knock. My problem was I found it hard to read the CEL in the daytime, plus my meth gauge was pretty much covering the entire CEL area.

This is a really easy mod. All I am doing is tapping into the ECU pin for the CEL and flashing my own LED when it lights. Since the CEL is switched to ground, all you need to do is run the postive to +12V, and the neg to the ECU.

Things you'll need:

*** Different color LEDS have a different forward voltage, and will require a different resistor to bring the voltage down safely. PM me if you have any questions on this ***


Step One:
Solder resistor to POSITIVE side of LED (usually longer of the two)

Step Two
Locate ECU Pin 36(on VIII.)Its a white/blue wire (On IX I think its pin 22. Same color)



Step Three:
Wire the NEGATIVE wire of the LED to pin 36

Step Four:
Run the POSTIVE wire of the resistor/led to a +12V source.

That's all there is to it. As you can see below, i mounted the LED on my gauge cluster bezel. Its very visible in the daylight, and not too bright at night.
