I finally figured out how to convert a IX GSR to factory HID and OEM fogs using the OEM switch and relay, easy 1 hour job max with some donor parts.

If there is interest I will do a "how to", it's a pretty easy job but it may or may not be easy for someone to source all the parts from an HID equiped car, as you need some stuff out of the fuse box.

I hate my aftermarket HID's, would def. like to be able to someday swap in the OEM HID head lights and have a full oem setup w/ fogs.

 

The only thing I did not do was add in function to the leveling motors, they are garbage and useless IMO. Either the cables seize up, the bobbing problems. Even when I did have them in my VIII I NEVER used them ever.

 

Yeah I had an 04 SSL before I traded in for a brand new IX....I set the leveler to the highest setting and never touched it again. I def. miss the OEM HID's - really not sure why mitsu didn't make that a std. option - especially w/ the price tag of the car.

id like a write up. i have a base pass light on my car now itd be awesome if it matched the fog on my drivers side lol

 

+1 for a write-up, I have a set of JDM heads for over a year and haven't installed the fogs

WRITE UP!!!!! I want fogs and HIDs in my gsr so badly but im not dropping a stack down on jdm lights.

 

I want fogs as well. I wish they would just come with them stock lol.

 

I hve a switch from autozone controlling my HID fog lights. I'd like to use the OEM switch again
