great thread. I just swapped in a 255 in about an hour. Getting the whole unit in and out of the car is a pain - just have to have patience... I cleaned up everything under that cover as well since it looked like I just opened a mummy tomb when I pulled the cover off, I was shocked.

also I'm high on gas fumes. great success.

The same thing happened to me eventually. You need to look at the plug at the top of the carrier and determine which prong goes to the power wire and reassmble accordingly. There are a pair of prongs on the clip. These are where it connects. If you look at the carrier assembly it will be clear which goes where once you have identified which is the power wire. White on the chassis wire goes to blue on the fuel pump assembly wire.

So when I pulled my stock fuel pump out of the housing is came out pretty hard and put some tension on the wiring. I didn't notice anything out of place but after reading the above post I'm curious. The car runs great with the new pump so I know it's hooked up right but I guess I'm wondering if maybe the wires are barely loose and vibration might make them fall out and short out? I don't believe this is possible with the way the fuel pump housing is but it's eating away at me because I'm wondering. I don't want to pull the pump again just to check the wiring though... Any thoughts?

It's working ok. I just dont like how loose they feel and are easy to pull out haha. I think the only way to solve it would be to re-do the wiring. But there's no guarantee that will improve anything so unless it poses a serious problem I guess I'll just hope for the best. If the car needs to be a more bulletproof race car I would consider re doing the pump system anyway.

Everything looks easier when you watch someone else do it on video.

but it's not really too hard of a job.
