Do not do that just buy a real shifter from works and call it a day you dont want to mess up your tranny or a stupid cheap mod pointless and worthless...

Not sure how well it works on the MR but I did this on my '98 Cobra and it worked great till I got a steeda short throw, go for it bro. sorry if this is bad advise I have no idea what the MR shifter looks like on the inside with the 6-speed.

the works "shifter" is nothing more than relocated shifter cables. i dont care about a shortened throw that will bind my cables, its for cosmetic reasons, tired of having a truck shifter in my 35k car.

anyone?

yeah its an in house only. they only modify the shifter cables. i really just want to make the shifter level shorter in height now in throw reduction. i might take the assembly off and see if i think its possible

i had a look at mine when i was installing the LC1.i didnt think there was much room for chopping mainly due to the plastic ring setup used for the reverse gear.if someone can work out a way to mod it that'd be cool,i mean if works modded it im sure it can be done.its a bit hard to get my car to their workshop tho.

I have the 5 Speed and there are short shift kits available everywhere for these. I suppose that is another benefit of the 5 speed box

again i dont want a short shifter. everyone ive seen do it hates it after it binds shift linkage.
i want a shifter that sits lower than the stock one.
