test pipe and hks carbon ti exhaust help

Not sure if this is the right section for this and for a noob question.... but will a 3'' test pipe bolt straight onto the hks carbon ti cbe even tho the flanges on the hks is about 2.something.

Also will it cause any problems to the flow since im going 3''' downpipe and testpipe to a an exhaust flange that is a bit smaller?

thanks!

If you're saying the HKS tapers down to 2" something, yes, it will still bolt on to a 3" testpipe.

Yes the HKS does taper at the flange and yes it will still bolt to the 3'' test pipe with no issues. I have this setup...

to the OP it will work but you are going from 3" to 2.75" to 3",,,not recomended

If its not too much of a pain in the *** take it to a muffler shop, have them cut off the neck down and reweld a small peice of 3" and flange to keep it 3".

Some odd turbulence will happen if you dont do this and it will free up some decent HP if you do it correctly

I've got this exhaust also and noticed when looking at it through the muffler tip, it gets very small in there. Anyone else notice this? It doesn't look like it flows very well.

dont go ams they use a three bolt flange. you will have to cut the flange off and have somebody weld a two bolt on for you. I did it to a buddies i welded a 3 bolt on a perrin for an ams downpipe. I had a perrin test pipe was very good but kinda heavy. now i have an aluminum exhaust that bolts up to the downpipe and weighs the same as the perrin test pipe

It doesn't work with every test pipe. I was running the megan test pipe and it was causing a leak, didn't mate well with my carbon-ti. I'm using a RRE test pipe now and it works fine. Like someone said above make sure you get one with a 2 bolt flange.
