I've never heard of any official racing that allows a sunroof so good luck with that.

You can take the glass out and replace it with a piece of alluminum. That's what my buddy did in his Civic, now he's legal

It's easy to do and still fully functional, just no glass.

I don't kno of any group that will NOT let you run with a sunroof. As long as its closed and bolted in (like it is). It's written in almost every rule book. You can patch it or just put a new roof on. But, It's not as easy as just slapping a piece of metal on to cover the hole. Trust me I kno.

As far as cages. Yes, auto power has them for sunroof cars.

Yes it is that easy, pull the glass out and replace it with a sheet of alluminum. If that's difficult, you shouldn't be working on your evo. And majority of racing does not allow a sunroof. I almost traded my roof for a sunroof before learning that I wouldn't be aloud to race.

Maybe your area allows them, not sure but my region SCCA didn't allow them. It had to be covered on both sides or taken out and replaced with metal.

Okay, whatever you say! Have fun.

FWIW, I have done quite a bit of racing with a sunroof and have patched mine. A sheet of aluminum will not sit flat on your roof or sunroof with out some metal work.

I kno SCCA rules very well. And to get technical, you can only patch it with the same material as the roof itself. So no al. If its a steel roof.
