Hey all,
I was trying to install the sparco style harness bar just now, and I had a little trouble with the upper bolt of the safety belt---the oem screw is apparently too short, if you put the bolt of the harness bar on it. There would only be around 3mm or less screw thread exposed.

So I need a longer screw, but I am confused about how to take off the oem screw off first. It has a very tight bearing around it, as shown in the pic:



so anyone knows how to take it off? I tried to pull the screw out but apparently it won't work. So I decide to ask before I break anything.

yes you need a longer screw and there a locking tab around the screw if you tab the bolt it should come out !!!!

 

if you look at the first pic you can see the tab around the threads tap it with a hammer and the bolt will pop off

no srry i bought the bar off a friend and we just switched bolts but im shore if you bring it to your local hardware store they should be able to tell you the tread... Also come back with the update let us know if you got it out !!!!

 

Yeah definitely. I am wondering how you gonna put the screw lock back into the bearing? And yeah I will definitely update!

 

once its off and you have the new bolt you can twist/screw the locking tab back on the bolt !!! i think i left mines off not shore tho
