DIY OEM front license plate bracket without drilling into bumper

OEM license plate bracket with no drilling into bumper

Materials:
Thin plastic sheet. I used a plastic school folder.
3 - 3/8 t nuts
1 - 3/8 2 inch bolt
1 - 3/8 1/2 inch bolt
3mm heavy duty double sided tape
License plate with holes drilled to match 3/8 bolt

Cut thin plastic to 5in X 10in. Mark and measure thin plastic for cutting holes. Make sure holes lines up with OEM bracket. Then insert T nuts.
I did have to drill the bottom hole on the OEM bracket a little bigger.

Cut 3 strips of 3mm tape and line at top of thin plastic. I cut three 9 inch strips which should hold 13-14lbs

Clean bumper surface

Apply thin plastic with 3mm. I heated the tape and bumper with a heat gun. Since it's freezing here in MN.

Put on license plate

All done

You don't need to drill your bumper for an OEM VIII license plate bracket and brace. It just takes some double sided tape on the lower brace leg to stop scratches and you're golden. Yours looks good but it can be done with bolts.

I bought a metal bracket for the plate for mine. And zip tied the bracket to the grill in the left bumper vent. From the front it looks bolted and the zip ties are hidden. Used double stick tape creating a border and left the plastic on. This was just to make a cushion to prevent scratches.
