there are 3 or 4 bolts on top, 2 up front by the head light 2 below fender by the rocker, 1 behind the black piece by the mirror and 1 between the door and fender

How do i get that black piece off? I cant see a bolt by the dash and i gave it a yank and it bent, i dont want to break it. is there a bolt back there or is it really just give it a good tug?
