HOW TO: RSR Ti2000 springs into 03 Evolution

This how-to is based on a spring install of RSR Ti2000 Springs for a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. http://www.prostreetonline.com/pso/i...srti2000/1.jpg Tools required floor jack and 4 jack stands spring compressor socket wrench breaker bar (long socket wrench without ratchet) sockets: 12mm, 13mm, 14mm, 17mm, 19mm wrenches: 12mm, 17mm, 19mm flathead screwdriver pliers rubber mallet |
General Steps:

This is what you will be working with in the front
Front Remove the clip that holds the break line to the shock (12mm bolt) - Image below is the back of the shock http://www.prostreetonline.com/pso/i...srti2000/3.jpg |

Remove the 2 bolts holding the shock to the hub (19mm) http://www.prostreetonline.com/pso/i...srti2000/4.jpg |
Slowly push axle down and pop shock assembly out of hub

Use a spring compressor to compress the spring.
Undo the top nut on the shock, and remove the assembly. http://www.prostreetonline.com/pso/i...srti2000/6.jpg Cut the bump stop in half Replace all parts, and place new spring into the shock. Tighten everything down. http://www.prostreetonline.com/pso/i...srti2000/9.jpg |
Reverse these steps to put the assembly back in.
Repeat these steps on the other side |
Rear
Remove trunk liner (Push in retaining clips to unlatch them) Remove bolt holding shock to control arm Remove bolt holding control arm to hub http://www.prostreetonline.com/pso/i...rti2000/10.jpg Remove the two bolts in the trunk to release the shock and spring Use a spring compressor to compress the spring. Undo the top nut on the shock, and remove the assembly. Cut the bump stop in half Replace all parts, and place new spring into the shock. Tighten everything down. Reverse these steps to put the assembly back in. Repeat steps 20-25 on other side |
