Possible stupid question............

What happens if you fill up with E85 and this unit happens to read a low ethanol %, say 60% instead of 70 or 85 or more? You are tuned for E85 (or possible dual map like others) so do you drive uber conservatively and wait to fill up again with true E85? Drain it and try again? Switch it over to your pump tune? Drive it as if it read E85?

Sorry in advance if this is indeed a stupid question....curious as I've been debating going to E85 for some time and I would ideally prefer a dual map setup for pump and E85.

Thanks!

Sorry to not respond to your question right away. I was out of the office for a few days. Yes it would be a good idea to drive easy if it shows a low ethanol reading.

I thought there was a patch to tune using the sensor, that would change timing and boost (solenoid) depending on the ethanol content. Leaving it up to the driver right foot and not the ecu, kind of defeats the purpose of spending this much on hardware.

The purpose of the hardware is to give you a real time reading on ethanol content. It does also have two analog outputs that can hooked up with an engine management. system.
