We have done many engine builds over the years and we believe we have come up with the best recipe for getting the most out of your Mistubishi Evolution engine. Whether it be a 2.0L, 2.1L, 2.2L, 2.3L and 2.4L, our stage 1 and stage 2 packages are tailor made for each application.


Stage 1 Included Components
  1. ARP Main Studs (We check for out of round and line hone if necessary)
  2. King XP Series Bearings [CR4120XP/MB5315XP/TW 173AM] (ACL Race Series bearings will used when Kings are on back order)
  3. Forged Eagle 150mm H-Beam Connecting Rods [CRS5900MB3D]
  4. Forged Wiseco 85.5mm 9.35:1 Pistons [K597M855]


Stage 2 Included Components
  1. ARP Main Studs (We check for out of round and line hone if necessary)
  2. King XP Series Bearings [CR4481XP/MB5315XP/TW 173AM] (ACL Race Series bearings will be used if Kings are on back order)
  3. Forged MAPerformance 150mm Ultimate Duty I-Beam Connecting Rods [EVO-UDCR-Rev2] (Manley Turbo Tuff will be used if MAP rods are back ordered)

MAP Stage 1 Cylinder Head Preparation

The MAP Stage 1 service is a great option for those looking to ensure that their cylinder head is in good working order and properly prepared for installation on a street or performance application. Please note there is no port work performed with this service.


MAP Stage 3 Cylinder Head Preparation


The MAP Stage 3 port & polish features aggressive intake and exhaust work. Combine this with our world class machine work and you've got what we feel is the absolute best street/strip cylinder head on the market! If you're looking to include combustion chamber work (which is a necessity to match the overbore of the 4g64 engine blocks) be sure to check out our Stage 5 ported cylinder heads!


MAP Stage 5 Cylinder Head Preparation


The MAP Stage 5 port & polish features aggressive intake and exhaust work, extensive reshaping and finishing of the combustion chambers, and unshrouding of the valves for improved flow. Proven to 1000+whp in 4g63 applications on both of our in house race cars we feel this is the best performing cylinder head on the market, period.

Cometic Head Gaskets


Cosworth High Performance Head Gaskets are engineered to seal in power under the most demanding conditions. Constructed from stainless steel with a folded stopper layer, each application features superior sealing compared to conventional multi layer steel gaskets. Additionally, Cosworth High Performance Head Gaskets are manufactured from pre-coated die cut stainless steel resulting in uniform coating distribution and consistent shape.


Cosworth Head Gaskets


Gone are the days when spending $250+ on a head gasket for your 2.4L powered Evolution was your only option! Although we still prefer the "Full Grommet" combustion chamber seals featured on the Power Enterprise gasket for extremely high horsepower applications, this gasket is a great option for the daily driver / weekend warrior making up to 600whp.


JE Pro Seal Head Gaskets


Every JE Pro Seal Head gasket utilizes the best raw materials available such as AISI 304 Stainless Steel. State of the art processes such as in-line laser cutting and multi-stage embossing technologies are utilized to ensure the highest level of quality available. In addition, every layer of our Multi-Layered Steel gaskets is invididually cut and formed to optimize performance.


Mitsubishi Evo 8 / 9 MAP Ultimate Duty H11 Head Studs with JE Pro Seal MLS Head Gasket


If you're looking to make big power (proven over 1000+whp) but don't like the idea of lifting your cylinder head and replacing head gaskets frequently these are exactly what you need! These studs are manufactured specifically for us by A1 Technologies and utilize an H11 material that is much stronger than the typical 8740 chromoly and yields a tensile strength of 260,000 psi. In addition, every layer of our Multi-Layered Steel gaskets is invididually cut and formed to optimize performance.


ARP Custom Age 625+ Cylinder Head Studs


ARP's Custom Age 625 Plus material is newly formulated super-alloy demonstrates superior fatigue cycle life, tensile strength and toughness - with complete resistance to atmospheric corrosion and oxidation. ARP is the first to develop manufacturing and testing processes for fasteners with Custom Age 625+. Best of all, it is less expensive and expected to soon replace MP-35 as the material of choice in the high strength, super-alloy field. Typical tensile strength is 260,000 psi.

Wiseco Forged 9:1 Pistons


Valve pocket designs that allow maximum flow around valve, also allowing oversized valves ang high lift cams to be utilized. Piston crown shapes designed to promote maximum intake charge efficiency thru scavenging mixture "cross flow" during intake and exhaust valve overlap. More fuel and air equals more horsepower! Pistons designed to optimize squish or quench during compression combustion cycle event, resulting in resistance to detonation and pre-ignition. Wiseco Pistons 85.25mm 1400HD


The 1400HD line of pistons has been developed for extremely high horsepower applications. They utilize a 2618 alloy which is the strongest available on the market today and include .225" tool steel wristpins and heavy duty rings to complete the ultimate 4g63 piston!


CP Pistons 4G63 94mm Stroke 9:1 Pistons


From Drag to Endurance CP pistons have proven their quality in the racing community. These pistons for the 94mm Stroked 4G63 are available in 85mm stock bore, 85.5mm w/ 0.5 overbore, or 86.0mm w/ 1.0mm overbore and retain a 9.0 compression ratio. These pistons are designed for high horsepower applications and are much stronger then OEM due to the forging process CP uses. The CP pistons for the 94mm Stroked 4G63 are an excellent choice for your engine build.


Manley Platinum Series Lightweight Pistons


Manley pistons are machined of high strength 2618 material. Each design is lightweight yet robust enough to deliver long service life. Offset wrist pin design is utilized for quiet start-ups. Perfect ring groove to skirt squareness is achieved through our unique "one fixturing" manufacturing method that assures maximum horsepower. All pistons come with moly coated skirts. Round wire locks, premium chrome moly wrist pins, and premium steel top ring sets from Total Seal are included with every kit at no additional charge. 9310 alloy upgraded wrist pins are available.


MAPerformance Ultimate Duty I-Beam Connecting Rods


Manufactured exclusively for MAPerformance by Howards Racing Components we developed these connecting rods to fulfill the needs of the hardcore enthusiast. Designed to handle 1000+ horsepower in a 4 cylinder application these truly are ultimate duty connecting rods! These new Rev 2 rods are made from aircraft-grade 4330 vacuum melt material, which has less carbon and is cleaner and stronger than 4340 grade steel. They also use Ampco 45 pin bushing material, which has a higher load bearing capacity and is suitable for extreme pressure applications such as nitrous and large turbos.


Manley "Turbo Tuff" I-Beam Connecting Rods


Manley Pro Series connecting rods are forged from aircraft quality 4340 vacuum degassed material. Each rod is fully machined in the Manley Lakewood, NJ factory to the highest standards. Our signature "Turbo Tuff" design combines the appropriate weight and rugged strength for ultimate horsepower applications. Each rod is shot peened after machining and magnafluxed. Bores are round and without taper. Bend and twist is tightly controlled. Cap fasteners are 3/8" APR 2000 cap screws.


Manley 156mm H-Beam Connecting Rods 7 bolt 4G63


Manley "H" Beam connecting rods are manufactured from 4340 forgings to the same exacting standards developed and approved by our original equipment customers. There is a vast difference in quality between a Manley "H" Beam and the "other" inexpensive H-Beams on the market. Weight matched to +/- 1.5 grams. Perfectly round big and small ends. Bend and twist is tightly controlled.


KING XP Series Main Bearings Set


Successful race engine builders are constantly pushing the limits of load capacity to new levels. Race bearings today inevitably need to match these demands with more competitive bearings. At King Racing we met the challenge with the XP high performance bearings series.

Competition Clutch Stage 2

This assembly provides up to 80% increase in torque capacity and is properly suited for aggressive street use and moderate track use. The Brass Plus material with its alloy backing matched to a performance pressure plate will provide smooth engagement and extended life. 500 mile break-in highly recommended with this set-up. 300 mile break-in REQUIRED with this set-up.


Competition Clutch Stage 3


This segmented Ceramic material with a performance pressure plate will provide the ultimate in street and strip combinations. This assembly is suited for up to 150% increase in torque capacity. Provides quick but smooth engagement and extended life.


Competition Clutch Stage 4


This assembly, available with a double spring, six rivet carriage is good for ease of gear transition with higher horsepower. This disc complimented by a performance pressure plate provides up to 250% increase in torque capacity. 300 mile break-in recommended with this set-up.


Competition Clutch Ultra Lightweight Steel Flywheel


The STU flywheel is recommended for forced induction and/or track and rally racing applications. This flywheel will work with ALL performance and stock clutch assemblies.


ACT HD Pressure Plate / Performance Disc Clutch Kit


A low to moderate pedal feel; smooth engagement with stock to low gear rattle. Monoloc provides uniform loading on the bearing and pressure plate to assure proper alignment, regardless of driver influence or vehicle modifications.


ACT Xtreme Pressure Plate / 6 Puck Sprung Disc Clutch


When your engine puts out performance, you need a clutch kit that can handle it properly. All ACT clutch cits provide a generous increase in clamp load which directly increases torque capacity. ACT Clutch kits are offered in a number of configurations and there is one developed specifically for your vehicle.


ACT XACT Prolite Flywheel


Most stock flywheels are heavy cast iron and are designed for optimum drivability by storing some of the engine's power in the form of inertia. Light flywheels provide significantly improved engine response and acceleration by compromising drivability. Many aftermarket flywheels are too light, fragile and expensive. ACT offers exactly what performance enthusiasts need: All the benefits of a lightweight flywheel, a choice of weights and affordable pricing.


ACT Monoloc One Piece Collar


Monoloc is a direct replacement and upgrade to the two-piece wedge collar in pull-type clutches for the Mitsubishi Evo, Subaru WRX, Subaru WRX STi and Mazda RX-7. Its one-piece construction eliminates the collar snap ring from bending or popping out of place, which typically leads to clutch failure or severe pressure plate damage.


QuarterMaster Twin Plate 7.25" V-Drive Clutch + Flywheel (Evo 8/9 5 Speed)


This clutch also allows for faster shifting based on the reduced rotating weight and smaller diameter discs. You will be able to shift faster than you ever imagined was possible with your old single disc! The only downside to this beast is the engagement as it can be quite harsh until you get used to it!


QuarterMaster Twin Plate 7.25" V-Drive Clutch + Flywheel (Mitsubishi Evo 8/9 6 Speed)


This unit includes the pressure plate assembly, clutch discs, lightweight flywheel, pressure plate hardware, and hydraulic release bearing to convert your Evo's clutch system from pull type to push type. The only other things you need to complete the install is transmission/transfer case fluid and an alignment tool!


MAP Clutch Fork Stop


Accidental TOB release is a common problem with Evo pull style clutches due to the clutch fork over returning and popping the TOB clip loose. In many cases the transmission must be removed completely to re-attach the TOB costing you time and money.


Techna-Fit Clutch Line (Evo 8 and 9, Please Specify when ordering)


Techna-Fit Stainless steel clutch lines are manufactured to DOT specifications. The stainless steel construction eliminates 'ballooning' associated with stock rubber lines, making for improved clutch pedal feel and better fluid transfer. This is an excellent item to replace at the same time as a clutch install.
