Just got my gauges today and after hooking them up, for some reason my Oil Temp gauge would blink and make a beeping noise. The boost gauge was fine as was the Oil Pressure. The boost gauge was the only one that was hooked up in terms of its sender, I didn't hook up the Oil gauges since I didn't have a Oil filter sandwich yet.

Why would the gauge beep and blink?

Also, the boost gague came with a plastic "t" as well as a metal fitting as well. My friend hooked up the metal fitting in-line in the vacuum lines. What purpose does it serve?
