HKS vs. Apexi

Dear boost solution,

I am thinkin of buying an intake kit for my 7 in the near future. My cousin already has the HKS Suction kit and I know what it feels and sounds like. I am wondering the difference of performance and sound with the Apexi Super Suction Kit. Does the Apexi Super Suction kit come with all the housing and brakets for it to go all the way to the turbo inlet like the HKS? Lastly, how come I dont see this kit on the apexi website?

Thank you
Andyc

You will see it if you go to the 2004 Price List. Apexi does not update their site.

Andy or Geroge....I assume this kit comes with the flange to mount it on the MAF. Also, are there any Apexi Universal Filters that will fit the HKS RS adapter? I plan to replace the RS filter with a Apexi Power Intake.

Actually I was thinking this too. Is there anyway to mount the Apexi Filter to the HKS pipe? The full Apexi kit is just too $$ IMO.

Re: HKS vs. Apexi

Hi Andys, I have not been on the forum for a long time, but since I am fianlly back from the Middle East here it is. Personally the Apexi RS kit is a nice piece and you can find that on the Apexi Japanese website, the Apexi USA website is not up to dated . The Apexi RS kit will take some time to get as well, since it comes from Japan direct and the price is kinda expensive. My personal recomendation in this case is to get the HKS suction pipe kit and the Evo intake filter. This willl make you a pretty nice system, much cheaper as well. The Apexi filter comes with all the brackets and the hardware to be mounted to the MAF adapter, no problem. The Apexi RS kit the same as well, all hardware and brackets included. It sure do not sound like the HKS RS kit, much quiter, but in terms of performance gain, no idea...

Thanks

Andy

Sure get the HKS suction pipe and the Apexi intake for Evo 8, here you have a pretty nice intake system. The Apexi intake is mounted onto the MAF adapter, you keep that, the same as the RS kit...

Re: Re: HKS vs. Apexi

Ye sure, you can get the Apexi filter by itself to mounted to the MAF adapter. The part number is apex 507-M005, which is for the Evo 8. If you buy the universal filter, the mounting holes will not align, otherwise, the filters are pretty much the same.

Thanks

Andy
