New engine management/datalogging alternative

I'm proud to announce the ECU+ (say "ECU Plus"), a sophisticated fuel and timing adjustment and data logging tool.

The ECU+ is a piggyback device like the S-AFC. But instead of allowing only fueling adjustments, the ECU+ adjusts spark timing as well. In addition, it data logs a whole mess of ECU information -- vehicle speed, RPM, MAF frequency, timing advance, air temp, coolant temp, front and rear O2 voltage, and more. It can be adjusted using either a Palm device or a Windows PC.

My favorite part is the analysis tool component. You can analyze your data as if it was a drag pass, or a dyno run. You can load in two data sets to compare dyno numbers before and after a modification. This is really powerful stuff, and it won't set you back a month's pay.

It comes with a hardware box, PC interface cable, and software for both the Palm and Windows.

Act now for a special introductory price!

Wow. Who developed this piggyback? Does it offer injector scaling?

It's from a new company (ECU+ is also the company name) headed up by an electrical engineer. The product has been in development for four years.

There's no direct input for injector size, but you can, of course, just enter the appropriate modified values in the fuel inputs. (Just scale all the fuel values down by the appropriate amounts.) It takes only a few seconds to do.

NICE! If I didn't have the AEM EMS this is the tuning device I would go for. Other than not being able to remove the MAS it sounds damn near perfect

There won't be any group buys, but if you buy now you get the intro price.

It might work on a regular Lancer. I don't know if it will and I can't give you any instruction on how to install it. But if some brave soul wants to buy it, try it and report back, that sounds fine with me.

It sounds more like a SAFC with timing control added. Plus you get features like a Gtech and data logging. All for less than $500. I'd be all over this if I didn't have a Power FC.

Not really. They have similar capabilities, but the UTEC has more power and features.

ECU+: Adjusts fuel, timing, does datalogging. One map. Applies an offset to stock map (only).

TurboXS UTEC: Adjusts fuel, timing, boost, does datalogging. Five maps + stock + valet mode. Stand-alone (not offset) map capability. Ability to use MAP instead of stock airflow sensor. Ability to drive non-stock injectors. Adjustable rev limit. Remote map switch available. Talks to TurboXS Tuner. Lots more.

If you're on a budget, and you just need a simple but powerful tuning tool, I think the ECU+ is a great value. If you want more power and more tuning options, and you have a little more to spend, the UTEC is probably for you.
