Radium Engineering's catch can solution for evo 8/9 allows the use of both PCV and crankcase catch cans to catch as much blow-by oil as possible. These cans are available individually or in a bundle package which has both packaged in one box.
The PCV catch can installs next to the the right-hand strut tower and plumbs in-line between the PCVB valve and the intake manifold. The closed operation of the factory PCV valve is maintained, while still catching oil and other contaminants. Radium catch cans are fully pressure sealed, so they will work with boosted applications without the need to have a check valve. This kit includes a billet oil catch can with integrated condenser and dipstick, a laser cut & powder coated left-hand side mounting bracket, anodized aluminum hose ends and adapter fittings, a length of PCV hose and stainless steel mounting hardware.
The crankcase catch can installs next to the right hand side strut tower and plumbs in-line with the crankcase vent hose, which connects from the port to the valve cover to the turbo air intake pipe. The catch can is designed to help keep oil out of the intercooler and associated piping. This catch can be converted into a vent-to-atmosphere type by purchasing an air filter vent fitting (sold separately, part #20-0050). Please note that for the vent-to-atmosphere conversion, certain battery configurations may not allow the filter vent to fit.
