IF you want a RX you can have it for $5 more - BUT the pro is the better choice on an evo - it holds flat boost
Also we like to hook the line from the turbo discharge directly to the MBC then to the wastgate

So there is no advantage in using the lighter ceramic ball(fastest response)? I was told that this would ensure no boost spikes, I currently have a ball spring boost controller and it can not respond fast enough which usually translates into an overboost condition, cutting off fuel.

Just got mine installed yesterday, I hooked 1 hose to turbo housing and another to the wastegate. Thanks Al, it works awesome. I like it a lot and easy to adjust too. Nice and good quality.
because this is how I have my mbc installed, with mbc running to the wastegate, the nipple from the turbo capped off and the other nipple of the mbc t'ed off in between the line for the bov to the valve cover.

Alright...
I removed the hose from the turbo housing pipe and capped off the nipple, split the hose going to the BOV w/ a T and ran one hose to the BOV and the other to the bottom of the HBC. The hose from the wastegate connect to the side of the HBC.
Boost holds rock solid for gears 1-3, but as soon as I enter 4th gear at WOT, the boost sky rockets! In gears 1-3, my boost reads 1.38 bars solid, but in 4th and 5th the boost hit about 1.42 and quickly rockets up to 1.5 bars...!
Is this because of the high load in 4th and 5th gear? Granted I've fiddled around with this by shifting from 3rd to 4th at about 50 MPH. Is it the low MPH and high load from the gear that's causing this boost creep? I've tried this also on the highway. I'll shift into 4th at about 70 MPH and roll onto the throttle. As soon as I'm at WOT, there goes the boost.
I'm starting to get very annoyed. Maybe there's a reason the EBC like the EVC V is $500.
BTW, This unit is still the best MBC I've used. It is 10 times better than the AMS MBC that spikes all day long like the graphic EQ on my radio... It just doesn't seem to like my car in particular!
