there are 2 points right at each side of the spare tire that the bar attaches to them. by putting this bar there you are basically eliminate the flex that is caused by that well. i have this bar and altough i doesnt help as much as a rear strut bar, it does add a bit of rigidity.

also,

if you lift the carpet in your trunk you will notich 2 round black stickers on each side of the spare. if you lift those stickers you will see that they are actually holes and you can mount that bar using the hardware supplied with no drilling or anything. the EVO RS comes with that bar stock and that is why there are already predrilled holes there...

you do not need to do anything. it will fit even with the board. the only thing you will have to do is trim the plastic piece at the end of the trunk.

559EVO- you don't see any bumps because the carpet doesn't cover it. it is a bit strange so i will find some pics and post it for you guys.

In all seriousness I didn't look hard for the holes on the underside of the trunk floor. Where do the nut plates fit?

Also it appears from inspection of the trunk that the trim on each side also needs to be trimmed to clear the bar.

since the bar doesn't come with any useful instructions, i had to guess where those plates go. you put the bar where it is supposed to be and than you put in the nuts. than you go underneath the car and put those plates to the nuts and tight them. IT WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL!!!!

as far as trimming, the only piece that needs to be trimmed is the black plastic piece on top of the bar. it will need to be cut in half so it will be able to sit on top of the bar.
