Changing out stock head unit?

I have an 05 with the SSL package. I like the stereo except for the head unit. I want to swap it out with my mp3 HU from my last car. Only problem is, is since I have the SSL package with the subwoofer, there is an extra jack in the back of the HU. I am assuming it is for the subwoofer but am not positive. It has about 7 pins on the jack and it plugs in between the wiring harness and the antenna. I don't have the 6 disc changer so it's not that jack. Is there anyway to upgrade the HU and still keep the subwoofer? I searched but to no avail.

The sub should be controled with the RCA jacks (red and white plugs) that are on the stock HU

Yeah... usually a jack with several pins controls something like a disc changer. I think it may be on there to accomodate a future upgrade. I would guess that the sub is connected somehow through the factory speaker wiring and it just picks up the lower tones, rather than being seperately controlled... You should be fine.

I looked but couldn't find any RCA's on the stock harness. I guess I'll just get a wiring harness and see it everything works. If not I'm only out the 10 bucks for the harness. Thanks guys!

In my 2000 Eclipse with the infinity amp, it took a MITAH adapter. This sounds like the same type of adapter. Sorry to bring back a post from the dead, but im trying to figure out what I need to replace the HU in my '05 SSL.
