Talking spoiler finally came in....

Hey fellas,

I just received my spoiler in the mail yesterday. Been waiting about 2 months now.

I got that Honda Accord lip spoiler. I spans the length of the trunk, and goes beyond just a little bit, but that's O.K. Believe me, I want to put it on now, but it's black. Although it will go along with the color scheme of the car (weightless white RS), you know, Black door handles and mirrors and all. But I'm gonna paint it white so that it's hardly noticable. I'll get some pics of it up soon and then on the car as well.
Does anyone know how much a little paint will just about cost at the dealer? I'm a do it yourselfer.

Sup people,

I had a question. I am upgrading my evo VIII to about 500 HP with 400 lbs of Torque. Which is the best way to go ahead with this upgrade?
Give me some suggestions on how to start.

Thanks

Don't be cheap. R&R your handles and mirrors yourself. Then take them to a body shop along with your paint code that can be found in the engine bay and have them spray the pieces. It'll turn out alot better in the long run.

Any local paint place can get you your paint code. Hell Parks here in N.Charleston can put it in a spray can!

Doesn't the dealer only sell touch up paint? You might have to go to a body shop and get paint if you are a do-it-yourselfer like myself. Then you will need to get a spray gun and some clear, and depending on the lip, you might need primer or some kind of plastic adhession promotor. I would, if I were you, get a professional opinion because you don't want a **** paint job on a beautiful white RS, it just wouldn't be right. Good luck.

Are forums really that hard to people to understand. I was new once, but I can't say I ever posted my own newbie question in someone else's topic.

This is kinda funny to read this! Lemme get this straight....a Honda Accord rear lip spoiler is the same fit and countour of the evo trunk!

The only reason I ask is that my boy has a front lip off his old accord (1997) and it fits perfectly on the stock front bumper of my Lancer. The shape is the same! It is about 2 inches to short on either side where it meets the wheel wells, but besides that it would work...

I have a Ken-style front end that I run in the summer, and it fits that as well. I was thinking... maybe I should invest in a mugen carbon fiber accord front lip and mount it. You should do the same for your lip spoiler. Sell the plastic one and buy a mugen or spoon carbon fiber one. It will look 1,000 time better and wont need to be painted!
