Infinity Kappas fit in REAR?

Will Infinity Kappa 652.5i speakers fit into the rear of the Evo? With or without an adapter?

I've read conflicting stuff. Crutchfield doesn't seem to think they'll fit. I plan to put 652.5i's in the front, so now I'm considering what to use in the rear.

Thanks,

Rob

Yes they will fit perfectly with the supplied adapters.

I have the Kappa 62.5is all around which installed with zero hassle. Just make sure to disconnect the OEM tweeters in the front....

Yes, those are what I have in the back of my car too. They fit fine. My fronts are Focals.

Sorry to be such a bonehead, but "65.2i" = 652.5i?

I wasn't sure if that was a typo, or if they are equivalent model numbers, or what.

Thanks again for the help!

The 652.5i is a 6.75" speaker, if that helps.

Thanks for the answer!

Is anyone running them with the stock HU? I know they'd be better with an amp, but I'm not up for that much wiring right now (I'm doing a remote starter over xmas break . I'm just wondering if it's a waste with the stock HU. My guess is that it'll still be a substantial improvement.

I saw another thread asking this question, but no one really replied.

Im running them through my jenson dvd headunit, and they sound great. Only pitch is that I turn off the bass for the speakers and use a 10" woofer/amp for bass instead.

It would probably be an improvement, albeit a small one. You definitely won't be getting half of the potential from those speakers with the stock h/u. I would almost always replace the h/u before the speakers if you can't afford/don't want to do both at once. FYI, my front focals and rear infinitys are run off a rockford amp (100x4.)

My problem: I'm one of the few people who actually paid for the super-overpriced Mitsubishi 6-disc in-dash changer. Basically, I really liked the idea of having a nicely integrated 6-disc in-dash (like my WRX had) and didn't want to consider a remote changer.

After spending all that money on the changer, I'm not willing to toss it out just to change my HU. I may add an amp later, using speaker level outputs from the stock HU.

IMO the stock HU isn't that bad ... the stock speakers on the other hand ...

So I'd change the speakers before I'd change the HU, should be a noticeable improvement.

Yea when I changed my HU to a kenwood hideaway mp3 player, the stock speakers sounded all quiet and nasty. I immediately ordered kappas on ebay for a great cheap price, and it performs well without an amp. Just using the HU's built in amp.
