Those are pretty nice even for Autometer.........all the same features as the Defi BF's and you can change the illumination.http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...&Ntt=autometer

but for the price I would rather buy a set of Defi Ambers

Then get the Defi d series. They don't play back or change colors but I would be worried to have autometers because they normally aren't very accurate.

How so.

Defi gauges have been know for being top of the line gauges that are very accurate. I have had autometers in some previous vehicles(in them when purchased) and they were inaccurate. I don't know if the nexus gauges are better quality. Or what but for that price I would rather go for something i know works then something that might work.

Autometer gauges are actually very good.

People have a misconception when they sit about 1-2psi off when the gauge is turned off, that they must be reading 1-2 psi off when the gauge is up and running, not true.

I tried searching for proof of this that I actually read last night but couldnt find anything.

They RULE the domestic market and have a very favorable market share compared to other gauge comapnies, this should tell you something.

When I buy my new car (EVO/SRT) I will be using Autometer gauges for multiple reasons.
1) Inexpensive
2) They work
3) They look decent
4) I live about 25 mins away from autometer, so if I have a problem, I can take it directly to them

I had an autometer fuel pressure gauge and it was off 10 psi that is not acceptiable to me. I was just stating for the price of a nexus you can get defi BF series. For the price of a cheaper verison like a carbon or something you can get the d-series. I am just if i had a choice between defis and autometers it would be hands down defi. And after actually seeing the guage be off by that much I would never let an autometer touch my vehicle.

I have stated everything that i need to state. This is just my opinion I don't expect you guys to accept it as a fact. So I am done with this thread

there must be some manner of testing that could be done... why not hook up a defi and an autometer in the same car and see what gauge reads what... instead of all the heresay...

Inaccurate readings can also be caused by a bad installation, Autometer is a very well known and reputable company in both the Domestic and Import community. I myself have had great success with their products, no complains from me.
