Tools needed:
Phillips screwdriver
wire strippers
10mm socket and ratchet
soldering iron, solder and shrinkwrap (or scotchlocks if you must)
remove 2 screws that hold in the dash bezel and remove it
remove 3 screws that hold in the insrument cluster
pull instrument cluster out of dash.
unplug 2 plugs in the back of the instrument cluster
pop the clear cover off the instrument cluster; it has little tabs that you just have to push in on and then it comes right off.
pop the grey surround that trims the gauges off help on by similar little clips like the clear cover was.
lay the new gauges ontop of the old ones, they just slide down over top of the needle, no need to remove the needles.
run the wires out existing chennels of the instrument cluster.
replace the silver gauge surround
replace the clear lense
solder and shrink wrap one wire on the back of the gauges to tap for power.
screw the ground wire onto a solid ground behind the dash (there is a 10mm bolt right there).
route the wires for the dimmer switch someplace easy to access (the pocket down by your left knee is ok)
screw the instrument cluster back in
screw the instrument cluster bezel back in
enjoy your new gauges.
He also includes an instruction sheet with directions and pictures with the kit.

Haters wil hate, whatever. I've got a heavy stereo system in my evo as well. It's a performance car, why would you want to do that everyone says! Oh well, To each his own. If you don't like it stfu. I just posted it so others knew that there was an option out there.
