You guys have got to be kidding. That "looks" like spraypaint? To my knowledge, there are more kinds of paint than plain colors with a clearcoat. That looks like what you would consider "real paint" but in a flat color, without the clear coat.

It's your car, do whatever the hell you want to. But for the sake of us all, make the job clean and tasteful like the one pictured above.

Powdercoating the stock wheels is dangerous as it weakens them signifficantly.

i've read 3 or 4 threads about powdercoating the stockers and it's apparently not dangerous if you don't cure them at high temps or something. if you search around you'll find plenty of info on it.

when i get a set of lightweight wheels that i plan on keeping for a long time, i'll look into powdercoating them in the color i want (if i can't get the ones i want in the right color). for now, i just want the rims i'm stuck with to at least be the color i want. plus, 2 have scrapes on them that i can fix in the process, making them look a lot better.
