right, i understand that, but when i bought them, i assumed they had the same minor step that the usdm did, again, thats why i posted this up.
I highly doubt i'll pull it apart unless i get realllllllllly bored one day. However, setting them to a more bareable level is in the future.

i actually don't think it'll be as bad as the rsx with HID, since it had no cutoff, you got blinded no matter where you were

edit: and those were pointed lower than they should have been. at 25 ft, the beams were downward pointed about 6in.

If you've ever seen a 9006 bulb next to an h11, they're very similar, but the base on the 9006 is bigger. To fit my h11 bulbs in, i needed to dremel two of the three "feet" or "pegs" that secure the bulb. Also had to trim the edge of the base, to completely fit in, then the chrome ring on the outside was the final part that secured the bulbs in the housing.
The cost? I've bought like 3 sets of HIDs from Steve @ xenondepot.com. Good guy, never had any problems with any of them. If you're lookin to do this mod, simply order the right sized bulbs, h11 for usdm, 9006 for jdm. He's normally runnin a special on one site or another, so you can get a slighty cheaper deal.

ok, heres an update, i went out and leveled them. I rarely drive with passengers, and i had a full tank when i did this. my weight in and out off the car moved the lights 0'.

first one shows the line per mitsu, at a 25' distance. Measure up to the center marker on the housing. 25".
that line is 25" on the garage door.
First pic is low beams, then low beams with hid fogs.

Finally, a shot down my road, now i realize it's blurry as hell, but you can see by the signs what lights up. Again, there aren't any signs on the right, but the fact that there were on the left was convienant in showing the depth.
First one is normal low beams, then low beams in the full down position, then low beams at upper most postition with high beams on.

Your HIDs seem to need more tuning. My 03 evo & my gsx has both a stock 'euro slant' on the hids, looks really sweet (it seems like a more courteous way to approach it). Kinda like this:

with a washer mod, you can make it more blue at the top, so cars or people standing far far away would only see a fat flicker of blue if you go over a bump or look at your car at the right angle. (it's because the light up close the blue is very small, but far away the blue is humongous) like this:

You really should realign your passenger side HID. I usually high beam dumbasses owners that just stick in HIDs into their non-projector lights or just spray light everywhere.. it's very dangerous to oncoming traffic.

dude, you must have missed the above posts completely.
I had glare outta the rsx, and if i got high beam'd, you got the full wrath of all my lights, and normally, you saw the people squint and turn their head to the right in pain and agony.
High beams, low beam HID and fog HID made a wimp outta anyone not in an SUV.
Also, again, you're missing a MAIN POINT of this thread... to let people know how "active" the jdm pattern is. Your pattern looks similar to the usdm stock pattern. In purchasing the lights, i assumed the pattern would be the opposide, with just that slight upward, outward angle, then another flat like listed in your first picture.
Also, what you guys don't realize, is when you turn the lights down... the things are pointed damn near at the ground, still lighting up the road, but glare nowhere near.
If you transpose the red line onto the picture below it, you see that 95% of the light and the main beam, is under that line. When the lights are turned down, 100% of it is under that line.
I've been "blinding" people for 3+ years now, this pattern is much more favorable to oncoming traffic than my previous ones, and ya know, i've never been stopped or asked about it. Only time i EVER got a high beam was when the car was perfectly clean, and the housings were crystal clear. When you live by someone with aftermarket HID, or any real hid, you recognize and remember. After high-beaming me and getting the output of the sun in your face for an instant flash... you tend not to do it again, because you know... "hey, those AREN'T his high beams"
