Rx7 Turbo 'Vert & Evo

My buddy brought his RX7 up this weekend for the first time since his engine swap. He dropped a turboII motor into his FC convertible. Since then his mods include brake upgrades, fuel upgrades, intake/exhaust, and a standalone.

i took some pictures of it with my Evo after we went out for a quick highway run. the RX pulls hard as hell and spools a lot faster than the Evo...it certainly is an impressive thing...

thanks, i figured there would be some RX7/FC fans on here. The car's in awesome shape too, i think he's got about 80,000 miles on the body. He originally had his NA motor ported by Pineapple Racing and rebuilt before swapping the TII in. If you're an RX7 fan you may have noticed that he's running the TII wheels from the donor car as opposed to the deeper 'vert wheels.

What kind of port job did he have on the old motor? I'm guessing a mild street port. I used to own an FD, but it gave me so many problems I had to ditch it for the Integra. I still gained a ton of knowlege and respect for the RX cars, though, and met my current best friend on the RX7 website He has a medium streetported (by Banzai Racing) FD with roughly 330whp. I'm planning on doing a photoshoot with him and the new Evo once I get it

nice...i think the FC owner would eventually like to do an FD with a 3-rotor (what RX owner wouldn't want to?). when he was running N/A he had a street port but i dont know to what extent...i'll ask him. he also had a lightweight flywheel and clutch (3000 lb pressure plate). That thing was such a PITA to drive...no torque, light flywheel, and grippy clutch made me look like a tool trying to drive it around. I got a chance to drive it this weekend though and with the TII, stock flywheel and 2800 lb clutch setup it was a blast. the power delivery is so different from the Evo, and the car handled so well, even for a 14 year old chassis.

with photoshop. you setup a camera on a tripod. take a pic of the car with the hood open and closed. then you layer the closed hood pic over the open. and start erasing the hood. it's not quite that simple, but you get the idea. here's an old one I did
