Too true! The car only had 600 miles on it at the time, so I was taking it easy.

Why the blue tape on the rear bumper?

Clubs usually have students/newbies mark the back of the cars with tape 'x'-es or a few stripes. This is done so other drivers can be aware who the students are. Since there is another person in the car (instructor, I assume?), that is probably what is going on.

As for owning the STi, how do you know the Subie isn't creeping up for a pass? I'm not saying that's what happned, but how can you tell from one pic?

Anyway, that's not important. Sounds like you had an awesome day. Any day at the track is better than a day at work. Nothing like having a great day at the track and driving home in one piece!

You are right on both counts. I had an instructor with me. The blue 'x' marks the fact that you have an instructor.
The STI (a friend of mine) did pass me. His instructor was asleep in the passenger seat, mine on the other hand made me slow down and adapt to my new car.

Sounds like you had a better instructor! In a few events, when you are zipping by your friend and he can't keep up, you'll appreciate the instructors that slowed you down, actually gave you instruction, then let you add speed later as you became a better and better driver.

Looks and sounds like you had an awesome time!
