Magnaflow Titanium Exhaust W/ Pictures
Picked it up last night and I must say that it is even lighter than I expected. Quality is top notch and all the welds look perfect. Special thanks to jerdeitzel for getting me the great deal and for being patient even when I got lost on the way to his shop. Can't wait to put it on and hear the sound.
Put it on my car last night and I must say that I never thought getting those bolts off the damn cat would be that hard. I sprayed like half of a can of PB Blaster on them and let me sit for a few hours. They had to have been torqued to over 100 FT-LBS cause my torque wrench was clicking while set at the highest point... Putting it together was kind of hard, but only because I didn't have a creeper or lift or anything. Boy am I sore today. Lining it up was also a little complicated because I wanted to make sure my bumper didn't get burned. Other than that it went allright. One question I'd like to ask you guys... I've never riden in a car with a silencer in the exhaust and I left mine on just to test it and found this out. It sounds horrible at WOT! I thought my whole exhaust was falling off! I never thought a silencer made it sound this $h!tty. It sounds like a tornado swirling in a tin can! Could something be wrong with my silencer? After taking it off, it sounds mean at WOT, like I expected, and quieter at idle. Sounded similar to jerdeitzel's. So overall I would say that I really like it, but I would like to figure out the silencer part. Sorry to write a book, just giving my review of the product.
"Horses for courses" as the saying goes.
The HKS carbon Ti doesn't weigh much (any) less than the HKS Hi-Power full stainless (the CF is wrapped around the steel canister so it doesn't actually reduce weight and is there simply for the bling factor and the the titanium is simply a cosmetic addition for the tip only).
The Magnaflow Ti (now) costs about the same, probably even less than than Carbon Ti, and is wider in diameter and MUCH lighter (and comes with a lifetime guarantee) and produces more power/torque.......

Both are top class, but I think the Magnaflow Ti is better value.

yah the magnaflow ti price wise is not much more than the hks carbon ti, but i prefer the magnaflow because its lighter and 80mm piping (even though they both taper to 2.75 at flange) and the blue tourched tip looks alot better, and its made at the same factory as the jic which is about $1100, but mtms4 it doesnt come with a lifetime warranty either
