The way i look at it is the 7 was designed cohesively front back and body. The 8 and 9's are front and rear bumper redesigns on the original 7 body. Therefore, the 7 is the pureset embodyment of the series from a stylistic standpoint.

I like it wingless and to be nit picky yellow and CF is trying a bit to hard for my personal taste.

ARVSHOP,

Wow, clean~! What do you mean? You just use adhesive to stick on to the original bracket that is provided on the front grill? Everything looks clean, now you'll have to realign ur bumper as your sides (whereby the bumper is bolted and clipped onto the front fenders) are slightly out and what CF bonnet are you on? Am not sure bout u, but I noticed that all CF bonnets on the VII front facia are slightly misaligned. From your front and side pics, you can see your inner bumper (in between your bonnet and top upper bumper where u fix the cooling plates) can be seen. If you look carefully, if you had the original aluminium bonnet fitted, it will fit perfectly and that top part of the bumper is not visible. I noticed this once i fitted my CF on. I tried swapping to lower rubber stoppers but it still shows. See from the pics i've posted, you know its very tacky! I have also attached the diagram for installing the rear emblems of the EVO VII to you. Will look true JDM if you had those amber signals on your front headlights.

lil evil evo,

The front and rear emblem are of the same size, only that the rear is sticked on using adhesive/double sided tape and the front has two hooks and a screw hole for you to hook and screw onto the original bracket. You can see from the attached illustration that I've attached.

Hey notiguy, to be honest man when I received the bumper, it was completely messed up. the metal supports were all bent, parts of it have been chunked off, and the grills were all bent. It came from a car that was totalled and it's amazing how we were even able to make it look brand new....(trust me it took 2 weeks for the body shop to fix it...gladly it's my uncles so i didnt have to spend a penny) ....if you knew what we had to go thorugh to even make it look like what it is then you would understand. It's not like i just bought the bumper and the hood and got it painted and finally installed it...It was a lot of hardwork and planning and salvaging, researching, etc. see you're lucky because there in malaysia evo 7 parts are not hard to comeby...here in US everything is priced so ridiculously it's not worth converting to the 7.... as far as the "misalignments" it was so hard to find an evo 7 hood and Seibon happened to have the ONLY one. when we installed it, it WAS HECKA OFF... we had to improvise and make modifications for it to even fit....maybe you might be thinking "wow it wasn't worth it then".....well to the people that spent the time to work on it and finally get it to where it is now is a huge accomplishment. hehehe yeah i just notcied that the VII on the rear emblem is too clos and will fix that as soon as there is time....thanks for the heads up on everything and I'm VERY HAPPY TO HAVE AN EVO 7!!!!!

NICE CAR BY THE WAY NOTIGUY....I was actually looking for the varis or the HKS front lip CF....lemme know if you can get one for me....ill buy it from you...

Gosh, you mean the so called 'crashing bar' was bent? Now if the original grills were bent, i know how you feel fixing those back... its a b$%^&. My friend bought a reconditioned unit recently, and i tried getting it back to it original look, boy it was tedious and couldnt get it near 70% of its origin. The misalignments I was mentioning earlier was the sides of the bumper bolted and clipped onto the fenders. As for the misalignment of the hood and top part of the bumper, I know that for sure it will not fit like stock. Even my original HKS Kansai bonnet doesnt fit perfectly. I'd guess its the heat that the engine generates that pulls the resin back... and moreover for me, i live in a 30degrees everage throughout the whole year with heat and rain, what will not give way? I should have taken a photo of my VII's tails, it was pink!

Actually, i wished i was in the US. If you compare dollar to dollar with my country, its such a breeze to actually buy a car and play with it there in the US. As for pricey'ness, i think my country is off way off. For example, you buy an EvoVIII for USD30k+- new, we buy it here for like RM250-265k (USD65.8k-69.735k),a MR tails, its USD399 sold in the US, Ringgit Malaysia is 3800/- from the main dealers and RM1500 from the performance shop... Would you pay for those? I wouldnt! The only good thing about here in malaysia is that when you buy a BMW, Mercedes, Evo, Supras, Skylines, its something.. like an exclusive car... sigh...

Just for your info, a used good condition VII bumper goes for roughly around USD300/- ea here.. I just ordered 5 sets of the IX's front and rear bumper, and one set has arrived, awaiting the others to arrive middle of next month. Might go for the IX look, but somehow, i dislike the rear bumper and prefer the JDM VII/VIII/MR rear bumper as its more streamlined and designed for the body. I find the IX is a bit out of proportion and if you look from the rear, you can actually see everything that is down there of your car! Well, will have to wait for Varis/C-West etc. to design some new and more effective diffuser than the IXs.

If you dont mind me askin, what price did you pay for the JDM rear bumper? If theres a market there, I could actually ship it over to the US... freight isnt that expensive though. My partner has been sending OEM HIDs over to the US for a year and 25kg is only USD200ish?

PS:- will let u know if i am fixing the IX, i can sell you my front lip (and bumper if you want) for a song.......

...from experience - shipping a bumper IN the US is more than $100.00!!! Shipping from Asia to the US, unless you have a container, would cost more than the bumper does

I have a set of Evo VII wheels that I might be willing to part with. They have about five thousand miles on them and are in great condition.

Please pm me an offer if you are interested.

How does the car look when it uses the evo8 hood with the evo7 body? Is it all fuggged up? I'm interested in doing the evo7 change with hks kansai lip, but it seems that parts keep racking up!!
