I don't know if you've heard of a compound called Fissure(sp?)
It's used to mold fiberglass to metal (like bondo) however the bonding is farrrrr stronger. With bondo if you hit a bump hard enough or shut your rear door hard there's a chance that a crack can form where the bondo molds into the metal. With fissure that don't happen as it's far stronger.
I personally haven't used or seen fissure, but i read a lot of good things about it and heard good reviews from people

Sounds to me like they didn't lay it up correctly. The resin didn't kick proplerly, and there is a chance that it didn't fully cure.
All problems I would NOT deal with on a $4k bodykit.
