Thanks on the compliments! We really appriciate it! I also can appriciate that some of you dont care for the paint and there's nothing wrong with that. Everyone has their own opinion. I personally would never air brush any kind of design on a car that I owned, but this is our shop car that is used for shop promotion. I'm sure Jeff Gordon Nascar fans don't nessesaraly like the rainbow on his car and wouldn't start painting rainbows on their cars either, but it definitly gets notice.
Anyway, we had major tranny issues before we went to the track, but just wanted to go to the track anyway to show the car. We havent been to the track in quite sometime and were hopeing that the tranny wouldnt act up, but it did. We could not get the car into 2nd or 4th gears. The tranny is off to Shepard Racing for the rebuild as we speak and we will be up and running in a few weeks.
As for the horsepower, It is in the 600 plus area without nitrous. However we were not able to see that at the track either because someone turned our Hallman manual boost controller down. We came back to the shop and dynoed the car and found that the boost was off by 14 psi and we were making around 490 hp and 330 lbs of torque. Way off base from the power we normally make. We should be around 650 in power and 530 in torque the way we want to run the car. It just goes to show you can't trust anyone at the track. We are going to have to keep our hood closed from now on.
The exhaust manifold is divided, that is why we have cylinders 1 and 4 bleeding off to one side of the wastgate and cylinder 2 and 3 bleeding off into the other side. You could use 2 wastgates as we did in Al's car, but we opted for the cheaper route and combined the cylinders to one wastgate.
As we get our 1/4 mile times down, we will keep you posted. Thanks again for the props.
