How to Install a ZakleeCorp Clear Cam Gear Cover

Not really much to the install...

1. purchase a Zaklee Sightglass Clear Cam Gear Cover
www.http://www.zakleecorp.com

2. use a 10mm wrench or ratchet w/ 10mm socket

btw - this cover will fit aftermarket cam gears and evo engines 4-8

Step 1

Unpack your new cover

Step 2

Remove the 4 bolts from each corner of stock cover

Bottom left bolt is the most difficult to remove

Step 3

Set aside old cover

Step 4

Install new cover

Step 5

Reuse the stock bolts from the old cover and tighten

Step 6

Start your car and watch

I can not get this thing installed. For one i have to take a bolt out of a bracket that holds a hose away from the cam gears, i have to do that just to have a little room to try to slide the cover in. Plus the end of that hose is right in front of the bottom front bolt so i don't see how i am supposed to unscrew that (i guess i could get in there with a 10mm open ended wrench). The one in the back i can barely see so i guess when my engine cools some more i will try to get a socket on it. It must be because the fidenza cam gears are much thicker than stock or something because there is no way to slide a cover in there without taking out other bolts.

its not an easy slide in. have to put some muscle into it to get it down. but if you can get the stock cover off then you can get the new one it.

btw- i only used three bolts to hold it down. left out bottom left. havent had any problems without it

that's just it, it didn't have a stock cover. i just bought the car used about 4 weeks ago and it had fidenza cam gears and no cover so one of the first things i bought for it was a cam gear cover and now i can't get the thing on.
