Silver + Tanabe Before/After
Silver + Tanabe Before/After
Finally broke down and added some minor cosmetics to the car: Tanabe Springs 1" rear 1.xx" front, and I'll be adding an APR splitter on Friday (no time to put it on today). Just driving home from The Speed Factor in Sterling, VA (where I had them installed + new brakes) the car seems really tight - I hit some quick corners. So far I'm loving it, and the looks are vastly improved. Can't wait for the splitter, though
Maybe this will finally make me aerodynamic enough to run some 11's in the fall

Another great thing about Silver: the car is really dirty, but looks spotless in the pics

They're Tanabe GF springs. It's not too agressive of a drop (think s-tech
) it's 1.5" front and 1" rear. Really just enough to close that rally-esque wheel gap in the front. Once I get the splitter on, I'm basically going to have to back into every parking space and watch out for major speed bumps, but I've got a lot of local Evos that have had similar setups for 1,000s of miles without issues, which is why I finally decided to do it. In fact the local guy who is the "highest-mileage 8" around sold me the splitter. He rocks the S-techs and only had a problem when he mistakenly drove into a 3-foot ditch of water near a construction site that put water up over his hood

the Tanabes are one of the best sets of springs we have used to date on the Evo - a modest drop, very comfy ride and improved handling - all around a great item and not expensive
Looks Great! Yeah I have 96,500 miles on my 03 now and its running like a champ! The APR splitter is great and you will feel the difference at speed. The only reason I parted with it is because I had the $$$ to order the C-West front bumper. Let me know what you think after you get it in the wind!
Looks good man, where did you get them from / how much? I didnt see them on the couple of sites I checked. Im pretty much going the same route as you though, silver evo mostly speed not much show.
