and still using the stock tweeters as well. I am bouncing between coax and components. I know the discus series Quart tweets will fit (they are tiny) in the stock location but I here it's a real pain to wire the tweets up there. Opinions appreciated.
For now I am simply going to run a new head unit with four new speakers. I may upgrade to an amp later.

Infinity
Would you still use the stock tweets as well? I have decided between the Alpines and the Infinity's for speakers. I wanted quarts but they are too inefficient for deck power.
I think I will keep the stock tweets hooked up for now. It shouldn't hurt anything as they require very little power. If they blow I can replace them then.

Actually I would do a componet system up front. There failry easy to wire..... When you pull out the speakers in the door you can find the wire right inside the kick pannel colors match up test contaneuity just to double check. You can grab the door peaker there wire that into the external crossover as the mid then take the otherside of the wires there and use those as the input. Then you would run wires up to the tweets pull off the apillars mount the new tweets in factory location using factory brackets... then hook those up to the tweet input on the crossover and put the crossover in the kick pannel. I would reccomend a set of infinity kappa perfects or polks both sound pretty good however i would also change the deck out. just changing the deck out makes a big difference. The factory speakers actually have a rubber surround. Also for the rear speakers the grilles actually unscrew from underneath by 3 screws. Hope that might help you out some
I would definitely go with components. The tweeters aren't very hard to install. I went with alpine spx177 components and they sound great. They don't require a lot of power, but I upgraded the entire system at the same time, so mine are powered by an amp. Either way, I'd still go with components.
