I used that nightshades spray tint first on my taillights and liked how they came out but I wished they weren't as hazy looking sometimes. The pictures make them look darker then they really were.

I recently switched to a set of Evodave MR tails and I really like the way they look.

I was never pulled over or hassled when my lights were painted and they were like that for a few months.

I did clear them but they were still a little hazy. If I did a set now after doing some before I feel confident that they would turn out better.

Here's another option:

Stickercity.com sells a "smoked tailight kit" that put 35% tint on the tails. Washable, removable, and reusable! $50

You can't reuse those once you take them off.

If you don't know what clearcoat is, I would highly recommend that you do not do this by yourself as you will probably mess up your taillights.

Basically, pretend the Nightshades tint spray is spray paint as it acts more or less the same. You spray it on using several light coats until you get the desired darkness. The can recommends 3 or so coats. I personally think that is too light. On the otherside of the spectrum, I've emptied a can on a set of tails and they ended up being too dark where you can barely even see the taillights when they come on.

After you achieve your desired darkness using the nightshades you have to put a protective coat of clearcoat, which will also make the lights "shinier". However, I found with the clear that you should spray closer to the lights using heavier coats instead of misting the clear like you normally might. You just have to watch out for sags in the clear applying it this way.
