Spoiler delete??

What do you think?
If i take it off will it affect the way the car handles etc?
I like the clean look of the rs
the car is a tarmac black viii with ss/l

the dealership put razor marks in the paint on the trunk lid when they put their label on. smooth huh?
needless to say....they will be repainting it and if i choose they will also be shaving the factory spoiler(they dont know that yet)

im sure some of you will think im crazy.......
whatever you think, give me some input

People say it makes a difference at high speeds. I'm thinking high speeds = 120+ mph. I honestly can't tell a difference(except the lack of attention and something missing in my rear view). I've had my wing off for almost a year and a half now, rarely hitting those speeds, but have also autox'ed it both w/ and w/o and couldn't tell. If you track your car often I would probably leave it on. However I am no driving expert so take it for what it's worth... hope that helps

Since I recently got called a ricer by the State Trooper giving me a ticket I would also like to go wingless. I was just going to get some silver vinyl stickers made up to cover the holes. Any better ideas besides actual body work?

It will also be faster without it. That thing creates significant drag.

going straight you won't notice anything except for maybe an increase in acceleration.... you may notice at speeds above 75mph if you decide to make a turn. it's really only functional at a road course, so auto-x you won't notice anything nor in daily driving. i'd say keep the holes, cover them up and put the spoiler back on when you want.

I say, get CF ones and keep the other trunk with spoiler and just like what hueman said, so you can put the spoiler back when you want.

I think the car looks pretty good without the spoiler.

i LOVE the wingless look! my plan is to switch to the RS spoiler and add a vortex generator to keep downforce loss to a min.

SaOrlando: As hueman said, you won't notice the lack of the spoiler at lower speeds but at higher speeds, 60mph and above the car will develop a tendency to oversteer in corners. Thus there will be no difference in daily driving or auto-x but during roadracing and high speed spirited driving watch out ... motortrend did a comparo on the RS (wingless) vs GSR vs MR ....

Korwood: The point of the rear wing is to create down force and a side effect of the design of the car is the drag it creates.

EVO Speedking: a vortex generator does not create down force by itself but helps the rear wing work more effectively by reducing turbulence behind the rear window. Adding a vortex generator without a rear wing is pointless.

I go wingless quite often in my WW. I just use some white electrical tape to cover the holes on the trunk. You can't even notice unless you REALLY look! haha.
