Reasonable price for paint & install of body kit?

I called a body shop recommended to me for a rough quote on how much it would be to paint and install a C-West full kit on my Evo. He said about $1200. He said they use flexible PPG paint. Is this to high for those of you who have gotten your kits painted and installed?

Sounds like a good price to me. The higher the price, hopefully the better the paint job.

I have seen some crappy low priced paint job.

Just make sure it is perfect to how you want it. Anything wrong with it when it comes out have it fixed. I think everything should be fine with a paint job at that price, but I don't know what shop you are going to.

I would probably tack on another grand and get the rest of your car repainted and re-clear coted also. Just to refresh the car.

i had my c-west, veilside wing, and eyelids painted at a very crappy local auto shop, charged me 700$

now i see cracks at the base of the wing and alot near the license plate

so i just get the kit painted at a auto shop where u can trust, even if the price seems high, u get what u pay for

I got a good familiy friend who runs a body shop. He has been doing this for 20+ years so he knows what he's talking about. I bought a kit that PFRP and he told me that It needs a base sealer. I think it was some kind epoxy sealer. Then 2 good coats of primer with sanding in between. Last comes the paint. Without the sealer he said it would crack for sure... Good news is a get my kit painted for free, but he told me it would be a 3 day job with all the prep etc... So your price does not seem to bad. The bad part about FREE is guess who does all the prep work on my kit

I spent $2500 on my GSX's body work. Extended the splash guards for a factory fender liner finish, added bracketry so the kit was as secure as OEM, fiberglass work, and repainting the whole car including aftermarket body pieces factory Northstar White. Spendy, but when you do it right anyone who knows can tell.
