Made Lower Din 3 Gauge Panel

Well I couldn't find anyone making these, and I really wanted gauges mounted in the cubby like the factory ones. So I decided to CNC my own panel from 6061-T6 aluminum, it still needs to be painted. Now I need to buy gauges, thinking of the VDO gauges from 42 Draft Designs. The gauge in picture is my mock-up one from my Talon. Let me know what you guys think.

If I get enough people I may be willing to make these, what are they worth to you guys? Would black anodizing be worth it?

If you are going to mount the gauges in the cubby, I would angle them left and upward to make them easier to view. In the current position, you won't see the needles' correct reading. -Gabe

Nope, the one they make goes in the top Din and does fit on the bottom one, I tried that first.

Angling would work better if you molded them, but machining an angle would be hard and it would only be a slight angle compared to molding.

It wouldn't really be that hard. Intsead of drilling with the plate on a flat surface, you drill with the plate at an angle..Of course if you are using a bandsaw and drill press/holesaw for "machining" it's really not the same as using some higher dollar equipment.

I used a CNC Mill, and yes I could angle it slightly, even though clamping the part would be a pain. It's a small benchtop mill and size is a problem.

The 52mm gauges are a close fit to the din height, so getting them angled and making the fit look factory so it doesn't protrude too much at the bottom of the panel may make it look odd. But it may be worth a try
