Official "Electric Blue" Picture Thread
Hey Guys,
Yesterday, while my car was parked at work, someone hit my Electric Blue Evo 8 from the front. This completely destroyed the front bumper and grills. Its a long shot, but I'm curious as to see if anyone on here has a painted EB Evo 8 bumper, or has a lead on a possible replacement.

How hard is it to color match Electric Blue? For example, if you added a JDM rear and a different front bumper- will the other body parts nearby need to be color-matched or can a pro paint shop get the paint pretty close without needing to blend into other panels?
Also is there pearl in this color?
TIA!

I think that all depends on the skill level of the body shop. I had my fenders color matched by a shop and it came out horrible. I had it done again by a different shop and never looked back. Yes it has metallic pearl in it.
I have painted myself my hood, front bumper, and a 2nd trunk thats wingless.
A lot depends on paint. Some of the higher ends of paints have much better formulas for color matching.
My trunk, I got a deal on a high end line of paint from a buddy who works at a bodyshop. My hood and front bumper were a mid level line of paint that I paid for. Yo can definitely telly a difference between the two. While the hood and bumper arent far off enough that it made me redo them, I can tell the difference in the color from the rest of the car. Not enough to bother me though.
One thing that usually happens too, bumpers, or anything plastic tend to not match 100% perfect anyways.
On fenders, if the shop does their job, they will blend the paint from the fenders onto the doors, so it helps "hide" the newly painted fenders new paint vs. your original paint.
Fresh paint on the hood and bumper after buffing. Cant tell here, they look pretty much spot on, but in certain lights, they will catch your eye as the metallic and pearls in the electric blue paint show their true beauty.
