the varis diffuser only fits evo 7 bumpers for some reason, most likely due to the angle of the upsweep in the bumper.

the apr diffuser requires the apr wide body rear bumper

the kansai one is only for the suby right?

Not true, there is a Varis rear diffuser for both the EVO 7 and 8. On the EVO 8 version, you need the JDM rear bumper for it to work.

Anyone ever thought about making one? I may try to do this when I get home from my deployment.

yean rammsteinmatt on socal evo is making one. and i bet chronohunter and his crew have made one. robi has also made one for front and back, but they're not quite diffusers, they're just flat anti parachute trays.

if you wnat to make one then consider this. the function of a diffuser is to allow gases to expand wtihout cuasing backwards turbulence which in the end causes drag.

the reason there are slats in diffusers, in other words is picture this, when the fluid pases through a two dimentional diffuser the gases will tend to expand to the left and right, but what ends up happening is the air at the front loses speed due to the expansion, this is given. however when it loses speed it will get pushed and what not and the leading edge of the propagating fluid front will curl, you don't want this curl to get to the point where it makes a full circle, cuz then that messes up the flow, you get an actual seperation in flow and that just makes all drag and no good. with the slats there, you make a narrower channel for the air to pass down when it tries to curl it hits the wall/slat and the air behind it helps it along.

it's by no means perfect because ideally you want an infinite amount of air guides and of course for a real world application you also need them to be tube like. however this is ends up being a bad example because if you have an infinite amount you'll have a wall or you'll have a honey comb or a lattice that actually doesn't allow the air to aexpand at all, so you get this complicated structure htat is a bunch of tiny trumpets but that will in the end impede flow with boundary frictions.

so basically a good diffuser is exactly like what you see on the market, on f1 cars, etc. it's not too many fins, it's not too few, its stops the air from curling back on itself, and it allows the air to expand in all directions for a three dimentional model.

A lot of these diffusors are pretty ugly IMO. The JDM rear bumper is good looking to me, too bad it isn't functional.

it's actually really hard to explain but it allow the air to expand without curling back on itself and causing a break in air flow which would then cause drag.
