Paint question....
I know this has been covered about the RR EVO's not having clear coat and only having single stage paint on it, but I'm a bit confused.
My EVO is in the bodyshop getting repaired from being rear ended a few months back and I got a call from the bodyshop telling me my car didn't have clear on it. I told them I thought it didn't. Then he told me that my rear bumper turned white as he sanded it meaning it had clear on it. This confused both of us.
What I want to know is, should they be clearing it when they paint it since the rest of the car doesn't have clear on it? They are painting my whole front end, rear bumper, and trunk lid. I want to make sure this matches.

Well since no one knows or wants to tell me I'll let you know what I found out today.
I called Mitsu customer service to ask about the clear coat and they told me EVERY car has clear on it. They told me that once my car is out of the body shop to take it to my local dealer that I deal with and have them look at it. If it doesn't have clear on it then they told me that they will take care of it.
Thanks for the help.

I guessing if everything goes well, my car will have all new paint sometime soon. Not that its in bad shape anyways, but I won't pass it up.
I should be getting my car at the end of this week or early next week so I'll take it over there ASAP.
I can't believe no one else has posted anything. This was such a big topic a while back.

If they take care of this for you there will be a line at every dealer to get the same thing done. Tell me the name of the person you talked to at Mitsu customer service I want to be first in line for the clear-coat.
