are you sure about that?? this looks to me like an alternative to the STACK meter which is a cluster replacment. i really don't see this is another item to sit on your steering column since it replaces EVERYTHING in your oem cluster. also, from shots i remember of this prototype, it was a replacement of the cluster and not an addition to it.

why wouldnt they make these vehicle specific? I was seriously liking this thing but now that I know how it is mounted I am just going to move on to something else. The price tag is a bit much as well.

If you READ the installation instructions (ok look at the pictures) you will find that this is designed to mount in a panel. Thus all someone needs to do is fabricate a panel that is the correct shape for the Evo, with mounting brackets for the stock cluster mounting points, and a cutout for the DSSC.

That said someone needs to check the size of the DSSC against the stock cluster to make sure it will fit into the dash.

No doubt someone will figure out how to custom fit it but even then you lose the fuel gauge and ACD status and it doesn't really fill out the cluster.

I think it was always Defi's intention to have this sit on the column - the semicircle shape mimics the viewport through the steering wheel upper arc.

ez76- iif this is true than it is honestly the most retarded thing i have ever seen. not only it looks like crap when it sits like that but why in hell would i buy that when i can just buy the STACK for the same price or even the MOTEC one and have it sit instead of my cluster?!???!

however, the pic that you posted is of the EVO GT-A that defi used to demo their product line. i am almost sure that this cluster can be installed with some custom work to replace your cluster because it does everything your oem cluster does.

I would love to be proven wrong as this would be a sick option to a-pillar mounts and center console replacements which never feel quite right. But like someone else said the DSSC has been getting demo'ed for over a year and I've yet to see it mounted in place of the stock piece in our or any other car. If it could be done it would be game over for my (and judging by the excitement), many other Evo owners' $$$.

FYI the DSSC has a digital fuel gauge.

But you have a point with regards to ACD; I wonder how this little problem will be solved...

BTW to 'most' users (no offense) this gauge is overkill. But for serious track junkies, this is a device sent from God. Do you all know it has a built-in lap timer? But I'm not sure yet how it works exactly (I know you can do a manual start/end, but there's an automated function which works in conjunction with PLAP-II).

that would be either the STACK meter or the MOTEC dash log. both of them do what the defi does. the STACK is also about $2000 for the good model but the MOTEC is WAY up there.
